QuoteCat.ai ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website.

Information You Provide

• Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account
• Quote Data: Customer names, project details, materials, pricing, and other information you enter when creating quotes
• Company Information: Business name, contact details, and branding elements you provide
• Payment Information: Processed securely through our payment processor (we do not store credit card details)
• Location Information: ZIP code (provided during onboarding) used to show relevant local supplier pricing
• Voice Data: If you use the AI Quote Wizard's voice input feature, speech audio is processed on-device using Apple's Speech Recognition framework. Audio is not stored or transmitted to our servers

Automatically Collected Information

• Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
• Usage Data: Features used, quotes created, app interactions, and performance data
• Log Data: IP address, access times, app crashes, and error reports

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve QuoteCat services
• Process your quotes and generate PDFs
• Sync your data across devices (with Pro/Premium subscription)
• Process subscription payments
• Send important service updates and notifications
• Provide customer support
• Analyze usage patterns to improve our app
• Power AI features such as the Quote Wizard (Premium), which processes your conversation text to generate material lists and quote suggestions
• Detect and prevent fraud or technical issues

3. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage (Free Tier)

Free tier users' quote data is stored locally on their device only. We do not have access to this data unless you upgrade to a cloud-enabled subscription.

Cloud Storage (Pro/Premium)

Pro and Premium subscribers' data is encrypted and stored securely on Supabase (our database provider) servers located in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• End-to-end encryption for data transmission
• Encrypted storage at rest
• Regular security audits
• Access controls and authentication

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers

• Supabase: Cloud database and authentication services
• Stripe: Payment processing for subscriptions
• X-Byte Enterprise Crawling: Material pricing data from retail suppliers (only product/pricing queries, no personal data is shared)
• Anthropic (Claude): AI-powered Quote Wizard for Premium users (conversation text is sent to generate responses; no personal data is stored by Anthropic beyond the session)
• OpenAI: Text embeddings for product search relevance (only product search terms are sent, no personal data)
• PostHog: Anonymized product analytics to improve the app experience

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Access and Correction

You can access and update your information through the app settings at any time.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account directly in the app by going to Settings > Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and all associated cloud data. You can also request deletion by contacting us at hello@quotecat.ai. Free tier users can simply delete the app to remove local data.

Export Your Data

Pro and Premium users can export all their quotes as PDF or CSV files at any time.

Marketing Communications

You can opt out of promotional emails by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or updating your preferences in the app.

6. Data Retention

• Active Accounts: We retain your data as long as your account is active
• Inactive Accounts: After 2 years of inactivity, we may delete your data
• Deleted Accounts: Data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
• Legal Requirements: Some data may be retained longer if required by law

7. Children's Privacy

QuoteCat is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

8. International Users

QuoteCat is operated in the United States. If you access our services from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

9. Third-Party Services

QuoteCat integrates with third-party services:

• X-Byte Enterprise Crawling: For material pricing data (Privacy Policy)
